Filmmakers Galleries Announce Two Student Shows
Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts present two student shows for Spring 2008. Portfolio work by graduating photography Certificate students from FilmmakersÕ School of Film, Photography and Digital Media will be highlighted. Running concurrently will be a variety of media art work by high school students whoÕve completed the Apprenticeship Program through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. They are both on view at Filmmakers Galleries at 477 Melwood Ave. in Oakland, March 7 – March 23, 2008, and share their opening night receptions.
FilmmakersÕ students earning a
Certificate in Photography must complete a program of 12 college-level classes
and must also present their work in a public exhibit of Portfolio work. This
yearÕs students are: Anne Delmelle, Liz Dewar, Virginia Farnsworth, Lisa West.
The opening reception is Friday, March
7, 7:30 – 9:30pm. It is free and open to the public.
Allegheny Intermediate UnitÕs
Apprenticeship Program brings students together from 42 school districts in the
Pittsburgh area to pursue professional instruction at the college level.
Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts offers apprenticeships in
film and video production, photography, animation and web design. An opening
reception and screening for these talented young students will be held on
Friday, March 7, 6:30 – 8:00pm. It is free and
open to the public.
Filmmakers Galleries are
located at 477 Melwood Avenue, North Oakland. Gallery hours are Monday through
Friday, noon to 5:00, and evenings when films are screened. Free and open to
