Announce Media Tonic 3, Uncensored

For one night only – Friday, June 6, 2008 – PF/PCA will host Media Tonic 3, the trademark fundraiser for the organization. MT3 is a celebration of artists who use media art as their primary form of expression, and this yearŐs provocative theme is uncensored. The transformed exhibition space – classrooms, sound stage, stairways, theaters, hallways, windows, even the parking lot – at FilmmakersŐ Melwood Avenue headquarters will showcase the work of more than 35 artists. MT3 includes photography, video installations, performances, films, a dance party, a photo auction, live music under an outdoor tent, and a raffle. Local bands, including The Shanks, begin at 8:00pm. This yearŐs special musical guest is San Francisco-based recording artist Chuck Prophet, who is scheduled to hit the stage at 9:00. General admission tickets are $15 and are available online at www.pghfilmmakers.org/MT3, at the Shop at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, at Pittsburgh FilmmakersŐ main office and theaters, or by calling 412-681-5449.  Tickets go on sale to the public on April 21. (A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $150. For information about these special tickets, which include a private reception and VIP parking, call Loretta Stanish at 412-361-0873.)
