(Pittsburgh, PA) — Pittsburgh Filmmakers presents Lekture, three workshops with prominent action sports photographers discussing and inspiring young artists interested in action photography. Two of the workshops will take place on April 29 and one on May 6 at Pittsburgh Filmmakers (477 Melwood Ave.) from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. They are free, but participants must apply online (see details below). Leading photographers at the Lekture events will be sharing the creative process of their work, as well as discussing technical concerns. Participants can learn more about the art of action photography and gain insight into the history and culture of action sports. The series launches with Jonathan Mehring photographer for Skateboarder magazine, and Brian Gaberman photographer for Ipath, on Saturday, April 29. Christian Pondella, photographer for Snow magazine, is scheduled for Saturday, May 6. To participate in Lekture, those interested are asked to submit their name, age, school/status, email address and an artist statement online at lekture-foto.com or to dominic.concotta@us.redbull.com. From these applicants, 10-12 participants will be selected. The workshops are free, but those interested must apply online. |
